I am interested in a wide range of subjects, mostly related to science and technology. My hobbies and professional interests overlap substantially. In fact, some of my most interesting projects at work have been triggered by technologies that I first encountered in my hobby activities.

Hobbies

When I was eight years old, my parents gave me a Triang-Hornby train-set and a Meccano construction set. I played with these toy intensively during my childhood and developed a life-long interest in model trains and mechanical toys in general. After I started working, I have built  a number of train layouts. You can read more about my model trains here.

A few years ago, I was asked to serve as a judge in a FIRST Tech Challenge contest. This is a series of robotics contests for high school students organized by the FIRST organization.
